Girls Varsity Basketball vs. Hackley School 41-58 This afternoon, the Girls Varsity Trinity Tigers executed their game plan. Heading into this second Ivy round match-up versus the Hackley Hornets, the Tigers were challenged to compete better than they had in their first match-up. That is what they did. The Hornets are a talented team with scoring threats from almost all five spots on the floor, but the Tigers competed. The Hornets got out to an early 8-0 lead, but the Tigers rallied to close the gap. Switching up defenses was not the trick, rather it was playing any defense with more intensity and being more physical that proved to be the best answer. The Tigers held the Hornets to only 22 points in the second half. This was the Tigers' best defensive effort against a tough Hornets squad all season. Trinity's offense rallied to score 41 at the final buzzer--not a victory, but a better showing against a quality opponent in their second go-round. On to Poly and the team's last regular season game next week.
