Matthew S. Tierney ’92 and his wife, Dana Orange, are the parents of Simon ’26 and Madeleine ’23. Matthew received his BA from Georgetown University and his MBA from Columbia Business School. He has been involved in emerging markets for over twenty years in advisory and investment roles. He is co-founding partner of Development Capital Partners, LLC where he travels extensively across Africa and related frontier markets. Prior to DCP, he was co-founding partner of Aperture Venture Partners, LLC, an early stage investor in healthcare. Matt worked at Credit Suisse First Boston in the global corporate finance group on a wide variety of transactions predominantly in Latin America. Working at TechnoServe, he assisted early stage companies in Latin America and Africa with market analyses and financial management providing business solutions to poverty. Matt is currently on the board of Bandwidth and Cloud Services Group, a Kenyan based ICT company. In addition, he serves on TechnoServe’s board of members and is a member of the African Leadership Network. He served on the board of trustees of the Aperture Foundation and directly supports emerging photographers around the world through The Tierney Fellowship. His interest in photography began at Trinity where he was photo editor of the yearbook and editor of the student art magazine. When he wasn’t in the darkroom he was often on the "turf" playing soccer as captain of the varsity soccer team.
